Great commentary. I am writing about Spirituality I suspect Buddhist teaching hides an obvious "reality" that can be tested. I am suggesting that there is a hierarchy of awareness. A pyramid like Maslow's Hierarchy.
Level 1. Everday Awreness.
Level 2. Cognition/Commitment/Decision making.
Level 3. Emotional Awareness. This is a complex area because the emotions like ghosts and dragons have to be faced in all their fierceness.
Level 4. Body.
Level 5. Spirit/Transcendance .
There are no tricks. The levels like dragons or ghosts have to be confronted or walked with. This stuff is not about cognition. The power of Zen is the idea of instant Awareness/ which is beyond cognition. Regards Richard
